Bomb thrown at former Home Minister Janardan Sharma's vehicle

RUKUM: An unidentified group hurled two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the vehicle of Minister without Portfolio and candidate for the election to the House of Representative from West Rukum, Janardan Sharma, at Goiri in West Rukum today morning.

The group hurled at the vehicle coming to Simli of Sani Bheri rural municipality from Chaurjahari municipality. None was hurt in the incident due to the tight security mechanism, according to police.

It was evident that the bombs were targeted at Sharma, according to the District Police Office, Rukum. The attack could be an act of malice towards Sharma by the group of people who are against the election.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Dhamala said that the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal were suspected to have involved in the incident.

Further investigation into the incident was underway, police said.
