All police personnel stationed at the border police post at Bankul of Rautahat have been recalled to the District Police Office for failing to stop smuggling and theft along the border.

All police personnel were recalled to district police office yesterday night after the DPO was tipped off that a large consignment of tax-evading goods had entered via Bankul from India.

Rautahat SP Ganesh Regmi admitted that police personnel were recalled for failing to control theft and smuggling along the border area. SP Regmi said that personnel from DPO were dispatched to the border police post in Bankul.

Likewise, police personnel ranging from officer to constables stationed at the police post at Matiarwa, Bara, bordering India had been changed.
