MELAMCHI: A dry landslide claimed the life of a woman at Sermathan in Hagam VDC-9 in Sindhupalchok district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sukurani Tamang (24).

Tamang died on the spot after a boulder fell upon her from above following the landslide, police Inspector Raj Kumar Thapa of the District Police Office, Sindhupalchok informed.

Tamang was returning to her home from Jalbire in the district when the incident occurred, Thapa shared.
