KATHMANDU: A youth was reportedly arrested on the charge of raping a woman with a disability in Sindhupalchok district on Thursday.

Police have identified the arrestee as Saroj Putar (22) of Sauraha Municipality-5 in Chitwan district.

According to police, Putar had raped a 51-year-old local woman with speech impairment at a maize farm in Kanglang of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-1 in the district.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
