One killed, 10 injured in separate accidents in Panchthar District

PANCHTHAR: A 14-year-old boy died after falling off a tractor while celebrating Holi, in Panchthar district on Thursday.

According to Panchthar District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Shahil Tumbapo of Falelung Rural Municipality-3.

According to the police, Tumbapo fell off the tractor (Me 1 Kha 1975) heading towards Machhebung from Memeng of the district. The incident occurred when the victim, along with his friends, was celebrating Holi on the moving tractor.

The dead body has been sent to the district hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, the driver and vehicle have been taken under custody by police for further investigation.

Likewise, 10 persons have suffered injuries in a road accident at Falelung Rural Municipality in Panchthar after a jeep, plated Me 1 Ja 2917 en route to Phidim, lost balance and fell down the road on Thursday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, Office Assitant at Irrigation Division Office Narendra Ghimire, Dhankumar Rai, Somnath Bishwakarma, Narendra Gurung, Yunish Gurung, Aruna Rai, Prakash Rai of Falelung, Suman Magar of Phidim, Dipesh Magar and Rajesh Magar of Hilihang, and driver Jiten Gurung were injured in the accident.

The injured are being treated at B and C Hospital in Jhapa and Pachthar Hospital, police informed. Likewise, jeep driver Gurung is receiving treatment in Panchthar Hospital under police supervision.
