KATHMANDU: The BP Koirala Memorial Trust has extended hearty congratulations to Myanmar's democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi on her party’s, the National League for Democracy (NLD), landslide victory in the general election held recently.

In a press statement issued by the Trust on Sunday, it has fondly recalled Suu Kyi's historic visit to Nepal in May last year at the invitation of the then Prime Minister and the Trust chairman Sushil Koirala.

Suu Kyi's NLD secured 80 per cent seats in the November 8 general elections in Myanmar.
