LAMJUNG: The under-construction Dordikhola bridge that would connect eastern Chiti and Nauthar VDCs has been left in limbo, though seven years have passed, in Lamjung due to gross negligence on the part of the contractor. Though the construction work started in 2009 and the contractor agreed to complete the task in 2013, it is yet to be completed. The construction work is said to have been affected due to the powerful earthquake last year. “The licence of the contractor must be scrapped and the road division office, which failed to meet the target must be penalised,” demanded Mohan Prasad Ghimire, former secretary of the construction committee. “Due to lack of bridge, earthquake victims of the VDCs have not been able to receive necessary relief materials. Farmers have not been able to transport various agro products of the area to marketplaces due to the same,” said Ghimire.
