Buddhist circuit in Lumbini
LUMBINI: The International Buddhist Travel Mart will be held in Lumbini to help include Tilaurakot, Kudan, Sagarhawa and Niglihawa of Kapilvastu and Ramgram area of Nawalparasi in the main package of international tourism trade.
The mart is taking place in Lumbini from tomorrow. It is expected to promote internal and external Buddha circuit and contribute to the trade expansion.
Nepal Travels and Tours Association Chairperson CN Pandey informed that preparation is on to prepare a uniformed package of Buddhist circuit across the globe.
There is a plan to develop a domestic Buddhist circuit covering Lumbini and Devdaha of Rupandehi; Tilaurakot, Kudan, Sagarhawa and Niglihawa of Kapilvastu; and Ramgram of Nawalparasi and create external circuit covering Bodhgaya, Raajgir, Sarnath and Kushinagar of India, Pandey shared.
‘Nepal Buddhist Circuit is to be promoted as a silk route by integrating important sites of Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and China,” he informed.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address the programme to be held in Lumbini on Thursday.
“The programme would be useful in creating a wider publicity of Lumbini,” said Chief Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi.
