Dacoits strike at Mirchaiya, one woman injured in resistance
SIRAHA: Dacoits struck at three houses in Mirchaiya Municipality-7 of Siraha district on Friday night and looted properties worth more than Rs 1 million.
The gang of eight to ten men exploded bombs before looting the houses of Rajaram Yadav, Rameshwar Yadav and Mira Pokharel, according to the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya. The took away properties including cash, gold ornaments, mobile sets, laptop and other goods from the houses.
The Police Office, however, is just one kilometre away from the area.
A local woman, Lalitadevi Yadav, was injured while resisting the intruders, who hit her with a sharp weapon. She is sent to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigation into the incident is underway, police inspector Shyam Singh Chaudhary said.
