CHITWAN: A pedestrian died after a passenger bus knocked him down at Aaptari of Bharatpur-1 in Chitwan district on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Santamaya BK (60) of the area.

According to District Police Office, Chitwan, the man, carrying firewood, was hit by the bus (Na 1 Kha 1748) heading towards Gorkha from Narayangagh.

BK breathed his last while receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, informed police.

The impounded bus and the driver are under police custody for the investigation.
