Businessmen vent ire at govt, parties
BIRGUNJ: Infuriated by the Friday’s grisly murder of a transport worker by a criminal gang, Birgunj businessmen today made a scathing criticism of the political parties and the coalition government for their failure to provide security to the people.
The businessmen of the city have criticised the leaders for remaining silent even as three businessmen had been murdered in the industrial town in the last three months.
As criminals unleash a reign of terror in the town, local residents are scared to death. Yet the government is untouched by such a heinous act, they said.
Speaking in a gathering of the businessmen in the hall of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Trade today, Rajendra Kalawar,
former chairman of
Transport Association, said that the party leaders
were untouched by the gruesome murder even as the incidences had exceeded the limit.
Narendra Yadav, chairman of Transport Association, said that though the businessmen had paid millions of tax to the state, the government had never made them feel secured.
Nejamuddhin Samani, chairman of Sadbhawana Party, Parsa, urged everyone to be united to warn the political parties not to protect any criminals, in order to control crime in the city. Shashi Kapur Miya of Madhesi People’s Right Forum claimed that there was not the involvement of any Indian criminals in Dube’s murder, but the culprit was a local and the culprit was protected by the local leaders of the political parties.
