KATHMANDU: The Constituent Assembly today ended debates on the report of State Restructuring and Distribution of State Power (SRDSP) committee, which submitted its report to the CA last week.

The CA members debated the concept paper and preliminary report of the committee for five consecutive days on party lines. Committee chairman Lokendra Bista furnished replies to the queries raised by the CA members. He said that the suggestions made by the CA members would be incorporated by the 15-member study committee headed by CA member Agni Kharel. The committee had suggested 14 federal units based on ethnic distribution. Some of the lawmakers had suggested forming a commission from within the CA to further revise the federal units and maps presented by the committee. The CA full House decided to send another concept paper to the Constitutional Committee.
