Cabinet appoints, Maoists order to quit
TIKAPUR: Cadres of the UCPN-Maoist created obstruction in a ceremony when Bhuwanewsor Adhikari, newly elected chairman of Tikapur Hospital Development Board(THDB), was assuming his office today.
The Maoists intervened and even threatened him not to hold the post. A cabinet meeting had appointed him as a chairman of the THDB on August 16.
Adhikari said that an unidentified man claiming to be a Maoist cadre called him from a mobile phone (9848082998) and threatened him not to hold the post. Adhikari said the Maoist cadre told him that they were not accepting the decision of the “unconstitutional government”.
The Maoist cadre also threatened to attack him physically if he would fail to pay heed to their diktat. When Adhikari contacted local leader of the Maoists Bikash, the latter confirmed the cell number of belonging to one of his cadres ‘Utsav’.
Meanwhile, the present chairman of the THDB Ram Jaisi denied leaving the post claiming that still two years were left before his tenure finished. “I won’t leave the post just because a minister decides so.’’
