Cadres doubt commitment

Taplejung, November 25:

Nepali Congress district cadres have expressed concern whether the 12-point agreement between the seven parties and the Maoists would be implemented effectively. They expressed their concern at an interaction organised by the party under the Public Awareness Campaign today. The local workers of the party in their discussion with the NC central office representatives expressed doubt about the Maoist commitment. One district level NC activist quoted local Maoist cadres as saying, “12,000 of our men have laid their lives for the party and the agreement which is done at the higher level only is not sufficient.” Remarks like these by the Maoists have made it more doubtful whether they would follow their leaders’ orders,” they said.
