KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 15
Former Judges Forum Nepal has renewed its call to impeach Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.
FJF-N Chair Top Bahadur Singh said at a press conference that CJ Rana's public defence of the verdict that he passed in the homicide case filed against former DIG Ranjan Koirala was sufficient ground to impeach him as the case was still sub judice in the full bench of the Supreme Court.
Issuing a press release, FJF-N urged political parties and members of Parliament to impeach CJ Rana for violating the code of conduct, failing to maintain judicial environment at the SC and losing moral ground to prepare the cause list. The FJF-N expressed solidarity with dissident Justices and urged the public to have patience till the resumption of case hearings. CJ Rana's exit is the only option as he has lost confidence of Nepal Bar Association, FJF-N said in a press statement.
The FJF-N also said CJ Rana's call for negotiated settlement was a ploy to cover up his corrupt behaviour.
