Call to act against corruption

Kathmandu, January 9:

Acting chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lalit Bahadur Gurung, today said if any government official involves in corruption and irregularities, the heads of the concerned offices should take responsibility.

He was speaking at a program on ‘Locals in Controlling Corruption’ jointly organised by the CIAA and the National Vigilance Centre (NVC) in Dhulikhel, according to a press release issued by the CIAA.

Gurung asked the chiefs of several government offices to check irregularities by setting up coordination panels in the local level.

MPs Shiv Bahadur Deuja and Shiv Prasad Humagain and NVC chief Chhabi Raj Panta stressed the need to control corruption in local level.
