Call to free detained journos
New Delhi, April 14:
Indian media persons handed over a memorandum to the Royal Nepalese Embassy here today, protesting the repression of the Nepali press and demanding the release of detained journalists.
Media persons, led by president of the Delhi Union of Journalists SK Pandey, met first secretary of the embassy Lekh Nath Bhattarai and handed over the memorandum.
They called for a stop to the repression of the Nepali press and urged the release of detained journalists within seven days. Pandey told Bhattarai that they would come up with more rigorous programmes if the Nepal government ignores their demands.
