Candidate seeks journos’ votes at press meet
Rajbiraj, December 4
Former minister and Saptari Constituency No 2 parliamentary candidate Umesh Yadav organised a press conference in Rajbiraj today to canvass mediapersons.
“Journalists are often taken as a mere conduit to pass news to the general public, but I’ve higher regard for them. Since I’ve done my best for journalists in the past and am committed to do the same in the future too, I am hoping to get votes from all of you,” said the left alliance candidate who is also a CPN-Maoist Centre politburo member.
“I’ve seen many candidates who we voted for but he (Yadav) is the first candidate I’ve come across, who has approached us for our votes with a pledge that he will work for us,” said local journalist Dinesh Sharma.
“All know what I did for this district when I was irrigation minister. The left alliance’s victory is crucial for the country’s development,” he said.
