Candidates woo voters by helping out at work
Bajura, October 29
Political parties in Bajura have found a new way of canvassing for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies.
Candidates, along with supporters from various political parties are reaching out to voters in their farms and helping them with work to win their hearts, in various places of Badimalika Municipality.
Unlike in the past when houses bore a colourful look with election publicity materials such as posters and pamphlets, this time the materials have been used sparsely. Jayabir Aide, a local said, “The candidates came to us while we were working in our field and requested us to cast our votes for them.”
Ambar Khadka, chief of Bajura district publicity department of the CPN-UML, said political parties had thrown lavish parties to lure voters in previous elections, but this time they are trying to do away with such practice. Likewise, NC district secretary Dipak Shah said his party would take action if any of its candidate was found arranging feasts to woo voters.
