GAUSHALA: Three persons including two women were injured seriously after being knockded by a car at Matihani of Mahottari district, on Thursday evening.

The injured have been identified as Hasina Khatun (32) of Matihani–4, Babul Sah (20), of Dhirapur–6 and Khairuna Khatun (40) of Tulsiyahi Jabdi area of the district..

The Maruti car bearing an Indian registration number plate (BSR 1 BL 0476) struck duo Khatun and Sah inflicting serious injuries, according to District Police Office, Mahottai. The trio were returning to Nepal after purchasing clothes across the border in India when the accident occurred.

The two women were sent to dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences while Sah was rushed to the SSB Camp at Madhawapur in India for treatment.

Police have impounded the four-wheeler and detained its driver, said police.
