Case against UML candidate

Kathmandu, April 27:

Nepali Congress candidate, Surendra Prasad Chaudhary, has filed a case at the Constituent Assembly Court challenging the victory of a CPN-UML candidate from Parsha-4, Pradhumna Prasad Chauhan, and also against the Election Commission.

Chaudhary sought the CA court order to cancel the election at five polling centres in Pokhariya VDC. “Re-election is required as Chauhan’s election was full of irregularities,” Chaudhary said. According to him, he secured 12,246 votes while the elected candidate had secured 12,509.

The NC candidate sought CA court order to the Election Commission and polling officers Gopal Prasad Sharma and Yograj Baral to conduct re-polling.
