Cases filed against 79 firms

HETAUDA: The Food Technology and Quality Control Office has filed cases against 79 industrial and trading houses for selling and distributing adulterated and inedible food, in the last four months.

The Office stated that cases have been filed against these industries and trade houses at the concerned District Administration Office after it was found that food sold and supplied by these firms were adulterated and inedible, in course of monitoring and testing.

Food inspection officer Akash Kafle said the samples of food collected from various industrial and business houses in Bara, Parsa, Makawanpur, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rautahat were found contaminated and adulterated when tested in the laboratory.

According to him, the 79 industrial and business firms against which cases have been filed are related to dairy, tea and coffee, cooking oil, ghee, water, lentil and poultry.
