Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has urged voters to exercise their sovereign franchise with full confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, stating that law and order arrangements have been significantly strengthened.

Minister Aryal expressed confidence that the HoR elections would be conducted in a free, fair, and fearless manner, and called on voters to actively exercise their democratic right to vote.

On Sunday, Minister Aryal visited the districts of Banke, Achham, Bajhang, Bajura, and Kailali, accompanied by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, and Inspector General of Armed Police Force Nepal Raju Aryal, to review security arrangements and election preparations.

During the visit, the Home Minister stated that any unlawful activities during the election period would be dealt with firmly, and directed concerned officials to prioritise the security of candidates and maintain religious harmony and social goodwill, according to Joint Spokesperson of the Home Ministry Rama Acharya.

Likewise, Minister Aryal instructed the chief district officers to ensure the effective implementation of the security plan.

Speaking to the media following the inspection, Minister Aryal said the election atmosphere across the country was enthusiastic, adding that robust security arrangements had been put in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful HoR election.
