Dhading, July 17

Caved-in streets at different places in Siranbazaar of Nilkantha Municipality, Dhading has jeopardised dozens of housesholds in the area.

The major street in the bazaar area has started to develop large cracks and cave-ins due to incessant rainfall. Collapse of roads at multiple places has obstructed people’s movement.

Local Narayan Shrestha said road collapses at various areas of Dhading bazaar had put many houses in jeopardy as they could face the same fate as the road.

Locals said that the roads of Dhading had witnessed huge cracks and cave-ins during and after the 2015 earthquakes. The collapse of roads at Siranbazaar has obstructed vehicular movement in parts of Nilkantha Municipality- and Wards No 4, 5, 6, 7 and 14.

Local Hari Prasad Sapkota said the government agencies concerned should take immediate steps to avert further damage to the roads.
