Dahal says govt should work for farmers

CHITWAN: CPN Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has alerted against the foreign investment acquired arbitrarily in each sector, which he said, would not be better for the country.

He added that such investment may ruin national economy and the state mechanism may also be captured by foreigners.

Speaking at the 14th AGM of the Nepal Egg Producers Association in Chitwan today, the former Prime Minister said that the upcoming government should work for the betterment of the workers and farmers as the left alliance has acquired clear majority in the recent elections.

On another note, he argued that no one could totally isolate the national economy from foreign investment in the globalised world but it should be regulated properly.

Similarly, poultry federation chair Guna Chandra Bista shared that Nepal has been self dependent in poultry production for the past 15 years.

He further opined for increasing the investment in the sector. The AGM will conclude electing a 15-member working committee today itself.
