Chand new RPP Chair
KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana on Saturday handed over the party leadership to senior leader of the party and former prime minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand as per the decision of the Central Committee of the party. According to RPP Assistant Spokesperson Kiran Giri, former prime minister Chand will hold the leadership for six months before handing it over to Rana again. Rana will hold the chairmanship of the party for six months before handing it over to another senior leader of the party Prakash Chandra Lohani. Lohani will then hold the leadership for six months till the General Convention of the party is held. The RPP Central Committee meeting will continue on Sunday. Giri said the Central Committee will discuss current political issues, review its partnership with the KP Sharma Oli-led government and also evaluate Oli’s role in handling the current situation.
