CHITWAN, NOVEMBER 24

Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has said it's possible to change people's condition from within the existing system and statute.

Speaking to journalists following his victory today, Lamichhane described it as a victory of all change-aspiring Nepalis and said he was committed to delivering on his promises.

"Voters voted for me with huge expectation, and I'm fullon committed to not letting them down," he said. "We'll represent our party in the House as a responsible political force and champion issues related to the interest of the country and people," he added.

He also acknowledged his victory and the victory of his party as a result of voters' frustration against older generation of leaders and hope from his party backed by youths.

On a different note, Lamichhane, responding to journalists' query, said whether to join the government hadn't yet been decided. "Whatever decision we take, we will take through our party meetings by keeping the interests of people and the nation at heart."
