The Chepangs of Makwanpur, speaking at a meet in Makwanpur, said the Praja Development Programme (PDP), initiated in 2035 BS, has failed to reach them.
They were speaking at the eighth district-level meet in Makwanpur. The Chepangs (Prajas) of eight VDCs took part in the meet.
The participants said they had been unable to uplift themselves since the PDP funds had failed to reach them. Sher Bahadur Praja, a participant, even blamed fraud in the handling of the fund.
The participants noted that the decision to construct a Praja museum in Raksirang had not been implemented yet.
They also demanded that the government-allocated fund of Rs 900,000 million be utilised properly.
The DDC has allotted Rs 200,000 each for scholarship and income-oriented trainings, Rs 100,000 for book distribution, Rs 300,000 for school dresses and Rs 50,000 each for higher-level scholarship and the construction of a Praja cooperative building.
