Chhatara VDC literate
BAJURA: Chhatara in Bajura was declared the first completely literate VDC in the district on Saturday.
School Inspector Dharmaraj Jaishi at Bajura DEO said Chhatara was announced the first literate VDC after it met all the eleven criteria. “The VDC was declared completely literate after 48 schoolchildren who had dropped out last year rejoined the school this year and everyone between the age of 5 to 60 years became literate,” Jaishi added.
Ammar Neupane, an elderly, said Chhatara VDC, Village Education Committee, DEO and Save the Children had collaborated for the declaration programme. Education Officer at Save the Children, Chetraj Padhyay, said various activities were under way in the village to bring the children back to school and educate the locals.
