POKHARA: Chief Minister for Province 4 Prithvi Subba Gurung has said natural resources would be fully utilised for physical infrastructure development and prosperity of the province.

At a seminar organised by the Nepal Intellectual Council and Nepal Training and Research Academy on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that the development of infrastructure in the province was the first priority of the government.

Stating that tourism, agriculture, energy and minerals are the major income sources in the province, Gurung added that the province government was preparing to form a planning commission for sustainable development of the province.

More investment would be made in road construction to connect all local levels to the major roadways in coming five years.

Campaigns would be initiated to make the province self-reliant in foodstuff through increase in agricultural outputs by providing irrigation in 50 per cent of the fertile land.

Likewise, Member of Parliament Khagaraj Adhikari said that construction of Korala to Bhainsalotan road was the basis of prosperity for the Province 4. He suggested the province and federal governments to pay attention to it.

On the occasion, central Vice Chairman of Council Dr Dinesh Chandra Devkota, Prof Dr Ganeshman Gurung, former chairman of local level determination committee Balananda Poudel and others said that increasing exports and reduce imports through employment generation was the major challenge of the time.
