Children's home starts operation in Bajura

BAJURA: A children's home for orphaned children has been established at Tapra of Budhiganga Municipality-2 in Bajura district.

The children's home called 'Concern Bajura' has begun operation after being registered with the local authority. The institution aims to look after the upbringing and education of children who have lost their parents.

With the registration of the institution, works have also started for building construction to accommodate the children.

Donations are being collected inside the country and abroad to gather fund to construct buildings for the children's home. So far, an amount of Rs 2.7 million has already been expended for the construction, whereas a total sum of Rs 5.7 million is estimated as required, said founding chairman of the institution, Ganesh Thapa.

He added, the fund that has been collected so far are donations and more helping hands are required to complete the building construction.

According to construction plan, three buildings are in the process of being built. Four rooms have been planned for the accommodation of girls and four for the boys. Similarly four rooms are being constructed for the kitchen and mess.

The land over which the construction is taking place was handed over to the institution by locals, free of cost.

There are 12 children in the home at present. 11 of them attend Basanta Bal Maitri Primary School while one of them goes to a secondary school in Dhuralsain.
