Chinese team meets Maoist top guns

Kathmandu, July 9:

The visiting delegation of China Institute of Contemporary International Relation (CICIR), led by vice-president Li Shaoxin, met Maoist chairman Prachanda and his deputy Baburam Bhattarai at the latter’s office in Buddhanagar. According to Bhattarai’s assistant Bishwadip Pandey, the Chinese team discussed the political situation in Nepal, including preparations being made for the CA polls.

Quoting Bhattarai, Pandey said both the sides exchanged views on Nepal-China ties, and ties between the CPN-Maoist and Chinese government. China will not tolerate any kind of international interference in Nepal’s internal affairs, Pandey quoted Bhattarai as saying. The Chinese delegation will meet CP Gajurel, another Maoist leader, tomorrow.
