Chitwan court resumes hearing on Krishna Prasad murder

CHITWAN: The Chitwan District Court has resumed hearing on the murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikari, on Sunday.

Adhikari of Phujel, Gorkha was killed in 2004 in Chitwan apparently by the then Maoist cadres during the decade-long civil war.

Two attorneys from the plaintiff (Nepal Government), seven on behalf of the petitioner and 11 from the defendant’s side have registered their names for the hearing.

According to the Court's Information Officer Krishna Prasad Baral, government attorneys Maniram Neupane and Udaya Chandra Neupane would defend the case from the government’s side.

Similarly, advocates Gopal Krishna Ghimire, Indra Aryal, Om Prakash Aryal, Ashik Ram Karki,Baburam Giri, Dinesh Tripathi and Punya Paudel would advocate on behalf of the petitioner.

Likewise, advocates Dharma Raj Acharya, Keshav Prasad Gautam, Gopi Lal Devkota, Prakash Maharjan, Gyanendra Nepal, Badri Paudel, Ramesh Mainali, Bhojraj Subedi, Khaga Raj Kandel, Laxman Adhikari and Chudamani Sapkota have registered their names from the defendant’s side for the hearing.

The Court would ask for additional evidence if needed, Baral informed. Otherwise, it would issue the verdict.
