CHITWAN: A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck in Jayamangala of Chitwan district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as local Raj Kumar Pariyar (50).

The truck (Na 2 Kha 4971) heading towards Tandi from Jayamangala had hit Pariyar, killing him on the spot, informed the Chitwan District Police Office.

The incident took place early morning in Ratnanagar-11 of the area.

The Tandi Area Police Office has impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for further investigation.

The body of the deceased is being taken to Bharatpur Hospital for the postmortem, informed police.
