Candidates representing the major parties registered their names in all the seven local bodies of Chitwan today.

There is one metropolis, five municipalities and a rural municipality in the district.

Dinesh Koirala from the Nepali Congress, Devi Prasad Gyawali of the CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre’s Renu Dahal and Badri Timilsina of the RPP have been been nominated for the post. Likewise, Parbati Sah of NC, Dibya Sharma Acharya of UML, Surendra Gurung of CPN-Maoist Centre and Rina Gurung of RPP have registered their names for the deputy mayoral post.

All the candidates vying for the post of chairperson in all 29 wards of the metropolis also registered their names.

Rupan Raj Paneru of the NC, Narayan Ban of UML, Purna bahadur Amgain of CPN-MC also registered their names as mayoral candidates of Ratnanagar Municipality while NC’s Nita Dhakal, UML’s Bimala Duwadi and CPN-MC’s Sangita Bhattarai were nominated as deputy mayoral candidates of the municipality.

In Khairahani Municipality, NC’s Rajendra Chaudhary, UML’s Lal Mani Chaudhary and CPN-MC’s Ekraj Dallakoti registered their names for the mayoral post while Sushila Upreti of NC, Sunita Thapaliya of UML and Rewati Upreti of CPN-MC were nominated as deputy mayoral candidates today.

NC’s Kiran Bhushan Oli, CPN-UML’s Prabha Baral and CPN-MC’s Ram Chandra Pathak were nominated as the candidates of mayoral candidates while Anita Mainali of NC, Iman Singh Lama of UML and Kalpana Lama of CPN-MC were fielded by their respective parties as deputy mayoral candidates in Rapti Municipality.

While in Kalika Municipality, NC has fielded Kamal Prasad Acharya as the mayoral candidate, CPN UML’s Khum Narayan Shrestha and CPN-MC’s Ramdhwaj Dallakoti have nominated for the mayoral post.

Likewise, NC’s Niruja Shrestha, UML’s Kamala Bhattarai and CPN MC’s Sabita Lama are going to contest the polls as deputy mayoral candidates in Kalika Municipality of the district.
