Chitwan's Kalika Municipality-11 local polls rescheduled for May 16

RATNANAGAR, CHITWAN: The local level polls in Kalika Municipality-11 of Chitwan district has been rescheduled for May 16 after one of the candidates for ward member from CPN Maoist Centre lost her life in lighting.

According to the Chitwan District Returning Office, a public notice has been issued informing the voters about the decision.

The CPN Maoist Centre ward member candidate Sifal Chepang died after a bolt of lightning struck her following a rainfall on May 9.

Meanwhile, Chief of Chitwan District Election Office Hari Dhakal informed that a total of 3,350 officials and volunteers have been dispatched at 376 polling stations to ensure the security of 313,002 voters in the district.
