CIAA diktat on relief distribution in quake-hit districts

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Monday directed the government to provide relief to the earthquake survivors within in seven days.

Responding to the reports of death of people due to cold in the earthquake hit districts, the CIAA summoned the officials of the Office of the Prime Minister, and different ministries -- including Home Affairs, Federal Affairs, Local Development, Health and Supplies -- and the chiefs of three security forces and told them to swing into action immediately.

According to CIAA Spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar, the anti-graft watchdog would monitor the relief distribution in the earthquake hit districts.
