CIAA files graft case against former Min Pandey over Sikta canal
KATHMANDU: The anti-graft body on Friday lodged a corruption case against Former Minister Bikram Pandey and 28 officials at Special Court citing misappropriation of funds in Sikta Irrigation Project.
Moreover, the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has accused Chairman of Kalika Construction Pandey and other officials involved in the project of compromising quality of work.
Earlier, questions were raised about the quality of construction work in the national pride project, after the main canal of the project suffered major damage when the flow of water in the canal was tested.
Construction of the particular part of the project was completed by a joint venture of CTCE-Kalika Construction Company two years ago.
Likewise, CIAA has also accused engineers and officials at Irrigation Department of irregularities.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation had also recently formed an investigation committee to probe into misappropriation in the project.
