Santa Kumari Sarki of Jyamire VDC in Sindhupalchowk has been using a citizenship certificate without the signature of the issuing authority for the past 18 years.

Santa Kumari got her citizenship certificate issued in April 28, 1989 and the name of the issuing authority has been mentioned in the card as Drona Raj Kafle, but Kafle’s signature is not there. “I contacted the mobile citizenship distribution team to make corrections, but the officials say it is not possible. I have been using this citizenship certificate for the past 18 years and it has not created any problem. I am not in the mood to go to Chautara to have it corrected,” she said. “That is a mistake. She could be provided with another certificate,” CDO Jiban Prasad Oli said.
