CJ asked to retire on July 29

KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council on Sunday sent a letter to Chief Justice Hari Prasad Sharma to take compulsory retirement on July 29. Sharma reaches the age of 65 on July 29 as per the records with the council. “Secretary of the Council Kashi Raj Dahal sent a letter to Sharma to take retirement on July 29 as he reaches 65 on that day,” a source at the Supreme Court said. Though Sharma will retire on July 29, no official process has begun to appoint a new CJ. — HNS
