KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 23
Janamat Party's president Chandra Kant Raut has been elected member of House of Representatives from Saptari-2.
Raut, who secured 35,042 votes in the constituency, defeated chair of Janata Samajwadi Party Upendra Yadav by whooping 18,073 votes. Yadav had received 16,969 votes.
In the previous elections to the House of Representatives, Yadav had emerged victorious in the constituency garnering over 21,000 votes.
This is Raut's first time contending for an electoral seat.
Meanwhile, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party's candidate Jay Prakash Thakur finished third here with 7,347 votes.
