CK Raut's cadres nabbed from Gaur, Birgunj
RAUTAHAT/BIRGUNJ: Activists supporting CK Raut, a Madhesi leader who gained controversies for demanding right to secession, have been arrested from Gaur of Rautahat and Birgunj of Parsa on Thursday.
As many as 25 cadres supporting Raut were arrested from Rautahat district headquarters, Gaur.
The arrestees include his movement's district coordinator Ashok Singh and vice-coordinator Birendra Sah.
Likewise, Police nabbed an activist participated in a meeting organised by Alliance for Independent Madhes (AIM) from Maisthan in Birgunj of Parsa district on Thursday.
The arrestee has been identified as Rajesh Yadav of Bara district. Yadav was arrested for showing banners demanding secession.
The meeting comprised of four activists, Sanjay Sah, Samjay Kalwar, Seshnath Yadav and the arrestee Yadav.
Police had intervened in the activity of the Madhesi cadres.
A witness informed that the police had torn the banners and pictures of CK Raut while three others fled from the scene.
Yadav has been held in custody at the District Police Office, Parsa for further investigation, informed SP Rajubabu Shrestha.
