Clash erupts between police-locals in Hetauda
HETAUDA: As many as five police personnel including a Police Inspector were injured after a clash broke out between police and locals in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-13 of Makawanpur district on Thursday night.
According to the District Police Office (DPO), Makawanpur, the locals of Padampokhari attacked the security personnel after police arrested the locals creating disturbance in the area under the influence of alcohol.
The police personnel injured in the attack have been discharged after treatment, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj Khanal at the Makawanpur DPO.
A team of police on the command of SP Khanal from DPO had reached the incident site after the Pashupatinagar-based Area Police Office and community police failed to control the situation. The locals have also vandalised a community police post located in Padampokhari, SP Khanal added.
It has been learnt that some locals too have been injured in the clash.
Meanwhile, police have arrested 16 people on the charge of being involved in the incident, however, locals claim that most of them are innocent.
