Close shave for Nepal Airlines plane in Jumla

JUMLA: A Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft averted a major mishap at the Jumla Airport on Monday.

The aircraft with call sign 9N-ABU was about to take off for Nepalgunj from Jumla at around 1:30 pm.

Just when it was about to leave the runway, the crew members witnessed a problem and stopped it, according to Chief of the Civil Aviation Office in Jumla, Pawan Shrestha.

It was later found that a technical problem had surfaced after the wire connecting the nozzle gear of the aircraft snapped, captain of the aircraft JN Niroula said.

All passengers on board the aircraft are safe.

"We are saved as the crew members were alert," passenger Udiram Dangi said.

The aircraft will resume regular service following maintenance on Tuesday, according to the NAC.
