KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 26

Chitwan National Park (CNP) is set to resume its jeep safari services, which had been suspended during the monsoon season.

The safari was halted on June 30 due to concerns over potential damage to gravel forest roads, seasonal flooding from rivulets, falling trees, and other safety risks.

According to CNP Chief Conservation Officer Dr. Ganesh Panta, preparations are underway to restart safari services ahead of Phulpati, the seventh day of the Dashain festival, which falls on September 29.

Jeeps that operated last year will be re-authorized for service this season, and operators have been advised to ensure that their vehicles are in proper condition before resuming operations.

At present, a total of 32 jeeps from Sauraha, nine from Meghauli, two from Ujauli, five from Amaltari, and one from Madi are providing safari services inside the park.
