Five local levels in Rautahat have decided to close down schools after the cold wave in the district affected life.

The authority concerned decided to close education institutions for a week effective from today due to the bone biting cold brought by the westerly wind.

Community schools were closed down due to the increased cold following the rainfall last week.

The schools authorities said that the decision to close schools was taken after students could not stay inside the classrooms and there was no learning environment due to the excessive cold.

Schools under the local levels were closed keeping the health of young students in mind.

The forced leave will be adjusted from the summer vacation.

Katahariya, Ishanath, Baudhimai, Rajpur, and s municipalities decided to close down community schools for a week due to the excessive cold.

Brindaban Municipality Administrative Officer Nagendra Yadav said that the decision was taken after the excessive cold hit daily life hard.

He said teaching-learning activities could not be carried out due to the extreme weather brought by the westerly wind.

Rautahat Education Coordination Unit Chief Ram Binaya Singh said that the schools were closed for some days in coordination with the local levels. He said that the decision was taken after the students could not attend school and student attendance fell.
