KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 25
Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey stated that collaboration with the private sector is essential for national prosperity.
Speaking at a welcome program organized by the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce today, he emphasized that fostering investment can generate jobs in the country.
He asserted that the government's role is to create a secure and enabling environment for entrepreneurs, noting that increased investment would expedite Nepal's economic growth. Pandey highlighted the necessity for various subsidy schemes to attract industrial investment, citing examples of countries that have achieved economic prosperity through robust industries.
He believes that by attracting both domestic and foreign investment, Nepal could quickly reach its economic potential.
The Minister reiterated the government's commitment to good governance by revitalizing the national economy and combating corruption. He mentioned the tourism potential of Pokhara and the government's intention to establish a tourism-friendly environment through appropriate policies.
Additionally, he shared ongoing discussions with foreign airline companies to enhance the operations of Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. Pandey stressed the importance of conveying that Nepal's aviation sector is safe.
Former President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Anandraj Mulmi also provided insights into Pokhara's overall economic development during the event.
