The United Sherpa Association of Colorado (USAC) has deposited $30,406 in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for victims of the August 26 floods along the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli corridors.
The amount was raised through the association's Nepal Flood Relief Campaign, with contributions from its executive committee members and Nepali community members in the United States.
USAC President Lhakpa Sherpa said the campaign received strong support from the community and raised the full amount through collective donations. The association transferred the money to the relief fund on September 14, covering the $40 international transfer fee separately so that the entire donated amount could be deposited.
USAC said it was making the campaign record, donor list and transfer receipt public for transparency. The campaign has now been closed, though the association said it would continue to follow recovery efforts in Nepal.
