Commercial rafting on Budhi Ganga River begins

ACHHAM: Commercial rafting has formally begun in Budhi Ganga River of Achham district.

Kathmandu-based Masto Outdoor Company has started offering rafting trips from Sanfe to Jimradi of Chitre, the religious site in the district.

“The company had conducted a feasibility study to this regard a year ago. With the success of the study, it has formally launched the trip from the Nepali New Year yesterday,” Company Chair Ramesh Kunwar said.

“We welcome any individual and both large and small groups to enjoy water adventure services available in the Budhi Gandaki,” he added.

Rafting on around 13-kilometre area would be charged Rs 1,500 per head whereas special discount would be offered for groups.

The company furtehr hoped that the operation of rafting would help promote internal tourism, establishing Jimradi as an attractive religious tourist hub.
