CIAA files case over purchase of public land
KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Sunday filed a case in the Special Court against seven persons for buying and selling public land by forging documents.
The CIAA probe found that Dipak Sunar of Jayakhani, Gulmi, had, in collusion with government officials, forged documents and sold two bigaha, 15 kattha, two dhur public land at Sarawal Rural Municipality, Nawalparasi, to the local Lumbini Gas Industry. The investigation also found that Land Revenue Officer Manohar Prasad Panthi, non-gazetted second class officer Jivalal Bhusal and computer operator at Land Revenue Office Ezaz Khan were involved in the illegal transaction.
Others involved include broker Yadav Prasad Bhandari, Lumbini Gas representative Surendra Raj Paudyal and Sudan Shrestha. The CIAA has determined that Rs 28,652,000 was embezzled.
